Students from Skopje (Macedonia) visited  Mlinarska, Zagreb (Croatia)

On Monday, October 13th 2014., working on the project Natural Cosmetics, in which students from our School were working together with students from Medical Highschool “Dr. Panče Karagjozov“ from Skopje,Macedonia, we had a lot of fun and spent a useful afternoon making natural cucumber facial masks and tonic.
Our students Marina i Matilda, who took part in the Natural Cosmetics project, were not the only participants in this particular cosmetic workshop. Other students such as Domagoj, Bruno, Lucija, Andrea, Paula, Ana i Dajana joined them.
Under the mentorshipof prof Đurđica Stanešić they were making cucumber cosmetics. Our special guest was Dubravka Gabrić, chemical engineer, working in the pharmacy Ljekarna Velika Gorica ll.
Students from Macedonia gave us their recipe for making this kind of cosmetics. Making facial tonic and mask was not only very interesting, but also useful and educational.
We used only natural ingredients, such as: cucumber, honey, lemon, sour cream, soy milk, aloa vera and avocado fruit.
The most exciting part was trying out our products at home. We would especially like to thank our boys Bruno and Domagoj, who bravely fulfilled every task they were given, preparing (peeling, cutting and mixing) all the necessary ingredients thus 'making life easier for us'!

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 within the project "Natural Cosmetics" fourth-graders of Mlinarska School Of Nursing: Marina, Matilda, Lucija, Bruno and Domagoj, under the supervision of mentor Đurđica Stanešić visited the pharmacy Ljekarna Velika Gorica ll.

In the laboratory of the pharmacy they produce a variety of natural cosmetic products on commission.

Our host, chemical engineer Ms Dubravka Gabrić led us through the pharmacy and laboratory and explained chemical terms such as essential oils, hydrolats, emulsifiers; what natural cosmetics is, how it is produced and what it is used for; the difference between cold-pressed and refined oils and how to prepare macerate in water or oil. We also had the opportunity to try out some products. Later on Ms Gabrić showed us how to make a peeling mask from red algae, glycerol and strawberries.
