Target Group:  Adolescents (high school population).
Project Objectives: 
Understanding the etiology and phenomenology of depression in adolescents.

Review of the available technical literature related to depression (recommendation: Vulic-Prtarić A.: Depression in Children and Adolescents (2004) university textbook) and the acquisition of basic knowledge about depression, to know the psychological specificity of the adolescent period and to be able to understand the incidence of depression in adolescence.
After the previous tasks are finished, participants of the project will be able to:
- Investigate the prevalence of depressive symptoms in the adolescent population
- Investigate the connection between depressive symptoms and self-esteem
- Investigate the connection between depressive symptoms and academic success.

Place of implementation:  Schools involved in the project.
Duration (phases):  phase 1: Acquisition of basic knowledge about depression in adolescents
phase 2: Preparation of the research methodology
phase 3: Research on depressive symptoms, especially in relation to self-esteem and academic achievement
phase 4: Analysis and discussion of the results, drawing conclusions based on the results
phase 5: Preparation of joint work and presentations
Expected Results:  Detect the presence of depression in adolescence to learn about the importance of early recognition of symptoms and timely intervention and preventive work.
Risk Factors:

The lack of cooperation, lack of material resources.
