Target Group: 
 
Students in higher grades of primary schools, secondary school students, employees in work organizations.
 
Project Objectives: 
 
Strengthening the competencies of students and employees in the field of knowledge of the theory and practice of First aid measures as an element of general culture.
  
Tasks: 
 
Assessment of the level of knowledge and skills in the specified population, related to First aid measures and training for the adoption of new guidelines on the First aid.
 
Collaborators:  Primary and secondary schools, Red Cross Organizations.
 
Place of implementation:  Primary and secondary schools, health institutions, work organizations. 
 
Duration (phases):  Stage I (June - August) - strengthening personal skills in the area of First aid providing, study of literature.
Stage II (September - October) - implementation of training of students and employees
Stage III (November - December) - research part (estimation of the acquired knowledge and skills)
Stage IV (January - February) - summarizing results and making a presentation, promotional material
Stage V (March 2018) - training participants of the 11th E-medica project in the area of BLS and AED
 
Expected Results:  Raising the level of competence in the field of First aid, acquiring new skills and raising awareness about First aid as the most important factor affecting the quality of life rescue and rehabilitation of injured and suddenly handicapped persons.

   Medical School ’’Draginja Nikšić’’ from Sremska Mitrovica (Republic of Serbia), as the project holder, hosted the students, mentors and school coordinators from 19th to 21st October, 2017. Participants from High School Pakrac, Medical School Šibenik, Maritime School Zadar, Secondary Vocational School ’’Miloš Crnjanski’’ Kikinda and Medical School Belgrade stayed in the Home for high school students
.

   The first day of our stay in Sremska Mitrovica, after the opening ceremony and welcoming programme followed by the presentation of the said schools, finished with working dinner at the Hotel Srem, where the lecture on coordination of assistance at the state-level during major disasters and catastrophe was held.

   The second day began with group workshops, after which we visited the City House where were hosted by the president of the City Assembly – Mr Tomislav Janković with his associates.
   After the reception, the day continued with the visit to the Regional Center for Professional Development and Secondary School of Agriculture in the city of Šabac and the Shipyard ’’Vahali’’ in Zasavica.

    Working lunch was organized in the Special Nature Reserve ’’Zasavica’’ where we heard the lecture on the protected species of flora and fauna of the Reserve. A demonstration exercise simulating response in natural disasters and traffic accidents was organised by the Red Cross Youth Team, Emergency and Fire brigade units’ members. The day ended with a festive dinner in ’’Tosha’s House’’ situated in Jarak, a place near the city of Sremska Mitrovica.
 
    The third day of the working visit began with the city sightseeing tour i.e. a visit to the Emperors’ Palace and the Museum of Srem and finished with the working session and giving assignments on the raft restaurant ’’Krug’’ on the right bank of the river Sava in Mačvanska Mitrovica.

   The meeting and our visit to Sremska Mitrovica officially ended on 21/10/2017 at 9 p.m. when the last guests left to their homes with agreement to keep in touch by using Skype, Facebook and similar means of communication.
