Synopsis of project "Adolescent Hypertension"  Synopsis of project "Adolescent Hypertension" Minimize

The main goal of this project is to inform students about hypertension because most of them think that arterial hypertension or elevated blood pressure is commonly as an adult disease. One of the four most common risk factors for the development of cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and kidney disease is also often caused by death. And while this information is almost all known, much less is known that hypertension is present in both childhood and adolescence.
The poor detection of hypertension in adolescence certainly contributes to several reasons. The main reason for this is insufficient blood pressure measurement of adolescents, complex diagnosis, adequate pressure gauge and others. Throught the project, students would assess the knowledge and attitudes of hypertension and adolescent pressure values in the adolescent population with the aim of raising the frequency and importance of prevention and early detection of hypertension in adolescents.

Scond video-conference on a project "Adolescent Hypertension“
(14th of March 2019)

On 14th of March 2019., a second video conference was held on the project "Adolescent Hypertension" of Medical school Bjelovar in cooperation with Medical school Split and Medical school Jezero Sarajevo.

It’s been almost 2 months since our last conference, and in that period of time we continued our communication and exchanged ideas about structure of presentation. Together we looked through the presentation so there will be no skips, we elaborated the details and agreed about the way we are going to present. Since the presentation is following the questionnaire, every slide will contain the question for the questionnaire and its analysis. Factors leading toward hypertension will be explained and connected to the conclusion of the project.

Although we had some technical difficulties, conference was a success, and our meeting is coming closer day by day.

First video-conference on a project “Adolescent Hypertension”
(January 17, 2019)

On 17th of January 2019 students of Medical School Bjelovar, Medical School Split and Secondary Medical School Jezero Sarajevo (Bosnia and Hercegovina) had their first video-conference on the project “Adolescent Hypertension”.

Till now, the communication was held by G-mail. Since the students were questioned in December of 2018., it was necessary to hold a video conference so we could discuss about the ways of processing the data. It was decided to use the graphs so it would be easier to see the possible differences between Middle Croatia, Dalmatia and Middle Bosnia.
It was also decided that we will use the blue and white pattern for our presentation. At the end of the conference the students exchanged their personal phone numbers so the communication will be easier and faster.

The Project is almost done, and the students Frane Svalina, Lara Beović, Samra Osmanović, Emrah Skopak, Paulina Djordjević and Lucija Brnada, and their mentors Mira Talaja, Azra Rožajac and Tina Jelić-Balta, can’t wait to see each other at the Tuheljske toplice.
