Synopsis of project "One Day Without Mobile Phone"  Synopsis of project "One Day Without Mobile Phone" Minimize

Former knowledge
It is well known that the younger population is over-utilizing mobile phones in their everyday lives. Our students are part of the global world and fit into that picture. Young people are less socializing because they use mobile phones for everything they need, so they find personal contacts not necessary. Some adverse health phenomena that are associated with excessive use of mobile phones were noticed. Because of this, many studies have been carried out and are being carried out, and they are trying to determine the link between mobile phones radiation and a range of diseases that radiation can cause, especially brain cancer. The impact of mobile phones on mental health is also being investigated, as well as causing addiction. Despite numerous studies, little is known about how IT technology affects the health.

Objective and outcome of the project
With this project, we will not find out how excessive use of mobile phones affects the health of an individual, but we will bring to consciousness that the mobile phones are over-utilized and that there are a lot of situations in which this device is not indispensable. The project consists of a research part, conducting experiments and educating peers. As the idea came about because of the weaker communication among the students, mobile phone dependency and the long viewing on the screen, this project will show how communication and social skills can be improved. We will connect teamwork with easier obstacles and problem tackling and with finding data and solutions. We will explain using examples that we do not need to rely on mobile phones in every situation, and we will encourage co-operation between students of schools participating.

Concept and methods of work
Schools participating will meet at the end of April for the first exchange when they will compile a survey related to the project theme. Answering questions we will obtain the information whether the students know who and when invented the phone and mobile phone. We will find out the average amount of their monthly bill and how much and for what they are using a mobile phone on a daily basis. Being aware of safety on social networks is a vital piece of information. From June to September, we will conduct a survey in selected school departments and process the data we have. In October, we will make a lecture on students' education based on survey results, conducted researches and interviews. In the lecture we will not claim that it is possible to imagine the present-day without mobile phone, but we intend to educate our students about the fact that each product including mobile phone has its advantages and disadvantages, and the rules of using the product.
In the meantime, certain schools will collect information about the history of telephony and mobile telephony in the world and in Croatia. It will be about introducing mobile telephony into everyday life and from the obtained data draw the positive but also the negative sides of using the mobile phone. They will look for mobile-related curiosities such as for example: the smallest, the oldest, the safest, indestructible mobile phone etc. By September, we intend to collect information about actions that are being implemented worldwide and in Croatia, relating to spending time and performing tasks without the use of mobile phones. Our wish is to discover and awake dangerous and even deadly situations that people often find in when using mobile phones. Not all situations in which mobile phones are used are dangerous, but many are inappropriate. People of all age groups found themselves with a mobile phone in hand when it was completely inappropriate and it was sometimes embarrassing to them. As they would not be in a similar situation, we will educate a selected group on such moments.
The task will be to find and visit people (families, friends, neighbours, acquaintances etc.) who are not using mobile phone today or using it rarely (not every day) until October. We will interview older people about the way and time they use mobile phones. We intend to visit and develop cooperation with some of the surrounding mobile phone institutions.
Each of the project participants will choose a day from May to October and at least one other event (unrelated to that day) that is usually solved using mobile phone (address location, using alarm to wake up, birthday congratulations ... etc.) and overcome it without reminder on a mobile phone. After our own example, we plan to spend one day at the school level without mobile phones at least in two classes of different generations and then find out how they felt and what was the most difficult and easiest to overcome (April/October 2018). The second exchange is planned for November/December when we will plan the final activities.

Fifth student exchange on project “A Day Without A Mobile Phone”
(March 1th 2019)

Within the project “A Day Without A Mobile Phone“, on Friday, March 1th 2019 in the School for Nurses Vrapče, associated school had their meeting.
Associated schools are School for Nurses Vrapče, School for Nurses Mlinarska, High School Dugo Selo and Medical School Šibenik whose member couldn't came to Zagreb.

When we came there, our hosts welcomed us politely. Considering we worked together on the realisation of this project, we were in touch the whole time. Everyone did their tasks before we came there so they brought finished materials fot the student exchange. For the begining with a help of Whatsapp group call we talked with Medical School Šibenik. We made up with a plan to finish our project after all conducted polls, educations and collected materials.
We choose a way to present our project and what will be exposed in our stand in Tuhelj. We fit our materials and ideas in our presentation, also we aranged composition of presentation with a bunch of ideas. There were many different opinions, but at the end we agreed to take the best ones. We also discused about the look of our stand.
With all the hard work there was also enough time to mingle, and even to get to know each other better. This student exchange ended with many new experiences, positive impressions and also with a wish to meet again in Tuhelj. Then we will rehearse presenting and mingle with everyone else.

The third exchange on project "One day without mobile phone"
(October 10, 2018)

On October 10, 2018, there was an exchange of project "E-Medica" with the theme "One day without mobile phone". The exchange was held in the Dugo Selo High School in cooperation with the School for Nurses Vrapče and the School for Nurses Mlinarska.
We started the work on the project by analyzing the data collected and the activities that have been carried out so far. Also, we agreed on the following tasks

After the assignment of the tasks, students and mentors of the High School Dugo Selo went to our school tour and attended the classes of Croatian language, mathematics and biology. Because of Medical School Šibenik couldn’t participate in exchange, we shared them common suggestions and agreements via video call.
At the very end of this exchange, we agreed on a further course of work and the hosts gave us the occasional gifts. We will remain in contact till the next exchange and we look forward to common ideas, work and project realization.

First Exchange in School for Nurses Mlinarska, Zagreb  First Exchange in School for Nurses Mlinarska, Zagreb Minimize

First students exchange in project  "One day without mobile phone"

On Thursday 3rd of May 2018, we had the first students exchange in the project and it was organized in the School For Nurses Mlinarska. We hosted students from School For nurses Vrapče, and from High School Dugo selo. During the exchange we realized our first video-conference with Medical School Šibenik.
After we had a chance to meet, it was time to visit our students dorm for us to see what it is like to live in a dorm.
We gave a chance to the students and their mentors to take part of some classes. That were the classes of Anatomy and physiology, Health care of a healthy child and Health care-general.
That part of the exchange was interesting for the students because they never have a chance to see and to participate in that kind of activities.
After visiting a class, we started to work on project with the video-conference with our colleagues from Medical School Šibenik.
Together we agreed about the way we want to realize our project and what activities have to be done until the end of the school year.
That video-conference was very helpful because together we came up to some very good ideas for the poll we are working on in the moment.
After finishing video- conference, we continued the work on project and visibly satisfied with our progress so far and with the students that are working on the project because they show ambition and interest.
On the closing part of our first exchange we agreed about our activities further in the project, deadlines and we exchanged phone numbers so that we can be more connected and in that way work on the project with better quality.
After the finished tasks we plan the second exchange and video conference.

Impressions of our associates.....
Our visit to the School for nurses Mlinarska was equally fun and educative. After we met the students and visited the students dorm the most interesting for us were the classes we took part of. After the fun class of Anatomy we had a try at venipuncture and baby changing. In our high school we are not able to see that sort of activities so it was very amusing for us but also very edifying. I am glad they hosted us nicely and showed themselves at their best.
